3/4 size violin built sometime between 1890 and 1920. This is the time when products made in Japan were labelled as Made in Nippon. Also, during World War I, violins previously imported from Germany were made in Japan where many German and other fine luthiers fled to supervise the process during the war. These Nippon violins are highly collectable as well as being known for their great tone. For that reason, they hold their value well. This one is in remarkably good condition for a violin approximately 100 years old.

The label reads: (1st line) Trade Mark (has the famous cloverleaf symbol in between which is really three interlocked "S's" for Suzuki Company); (2nd line) Made in Nippon
