Russian Imperial Porcelain Large Easter Egg of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. Russian Imperial Porcelain Factory circa late 19th early 20th century. These eggs were given out personally by the empress at Easter. The large decorated eggs were made in smaller quantities and are therefore much more rare. They were reserved for those closer to her. 100% authentic, in excellent condition with original ribbon. Some rubbing of the gilding.

The egg is also considered a holy object as the Empress was canonized as a martyr along with her family by the Russian Orthodox Church. What an incredible blessing and potential gift. Or an important addition to your collection. Own a piece of history!

The blue flowers on the milk-white surface and the initial Cyrillic letter cipher surmounted by the Imperial Russian crown in gold gilding. Provenance: Bonhams, the Oxford Fine Sale,
