1893 IL HK-166 SO-CALLED DOLLAR BIRDS EYE VIEW WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPO NGC MS 65

THERE IS ONLY (1) MS 67 PL EXAMPLE LISTED AS FINER PER THE NGC CENSUS AS OF 3/2024.

HERITAGE AUCTIONS SOLD THE NGC GRADED MS 67 PL EXAMPLE FOR $432.00 IN FEBRUARY 2023.

"BIRD'S-EYE VIEW DOLLAR". The view on this medal is clearly not a "birdseye view" despite the use of that term in its legend. Made from the new wonder metal of the time,  aluminum. ALSO CATALOGUED AS EGLIT 21.

For many years aluminum was more valuable than gold. Several processes developed in the 1850s lowered its price, but when the pyramidal aluminum cap of the Washington Monument was produced in 1884, the cost of aluminum was still about $1 per ounce, similar to the cost of silver.

MY NGC REGISTRY SET "BRUCE THOMAS COLLECTION OF SO-CALLED DOLLARS AND OTHER MEDALS" WAS VOTED AS THE BEST CUSTOM SET FOR 2018 BY THE NGC REGISTRY AWARDS. I AM VERY PROUD OF THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT, AND THANKS TO NGC FOR THIS HONOR.

PLEASE BE ASSURED OF A FLAWLESS AND EASY TRANSACTION BY MY 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK WHILE SELLING MANY NUMISMATIC ITEMS IN THE PAST 20 YEARS.

I WILL BE LISTING MANY MORE EXONUMIA ITEMS IN THE FUTURE, INCLUDING MANY SO-CALLED DOLLARS, DEWITT LISTED POLITICAL CAMPAIGN MEDALS, AND OTHER UNITED STATES HISTORIC MEDALS. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING MY LISTINGS TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION.
