Original design that has been copied by others, don't be fooled by imposters!  The reason they offer longer warranties is because they know their products are inferior knock-offs of my original design and will fail.  My product is a significant improvement over the OEM version.  They even copy and pasted my listing description and title.  I have lowered the price to get rid of them.  Please support a USA made and developed product, this is absolutely not made by anyone or anything from overseas!

Improved replacement water intake screen for OEM part number 320042, basically all 2 cylinder 40-60hp OMC (Evinrude, Johnson) outboards from 1976-1988 'the good models.'

This design strengthens the actual water screen grid which is what breaks. If you look at knock-off copies of my design they use thin walls on their screens with smaller grids/more holes. This is why the OEM versions are so brittle.

This will not fit on the 1989-2005 models which have bad gearcases to begin with.  The older models are better, tougher powerheads and gearcases and are workhorses.

Designed from scratch in the good 'ol USA.  I designed this based off the original but improved on the weak points.  1 year warrantee no questions asked so long as stupidity wasn't involved or excessively bad waters. It would be obvious to both you and I if I look at it.

Snaps in same as orignal, but better construction and stronger so it is easier to remove without breaking if ever needed.   The original OEM models break when you try to remove them.  I improved the original design so they are less prone to breakage both during normal service and when you need to remove them.

Use surgical clamps to install and remove for the easiest process.  You can buy these at harbor frieght, pep boys, o'reillys, etc.  Good tool to have in general and costs about $10.00.

You may need a flat head screw driver to depress the 'tabs' on your old intake screen during removal.  Use the surgical clamps to grab it on the center piece/meat, and use the screw driver to depress the retainer tabs installed on your existing retainer screen.  use the flat head screwdriver to push down on 1 tab (1 side of it, there is one on each side), pull up with the clamps and/or rock back and forth to pull that tab to the point where it is depressed by the gearcase housing.  At this point switch the screw driver to the other side and repeat the process and it should come right out unless you have some unusual situation.

You'll have to yank it out like a dentist yanking a tooth (seriously).  Two people doing this job will greatly simplify it, too.

Fits Evinrude Johnson 40-60 HP 2 Cylinder outboards from 1975-1988.  Common wear and tear parts even in freshwater, but will clog up your cooling system quickly and cause a motor overheat.

This does not work on the 50-70hp 3 CYLINDER models made in the mid 1990’s.
