Pea Pod (966) |
Limited Edition Numbered Piece from 295 produced Length: 12cm Weight: 140g Launch: September 2017 This
piece is a traditional foundry solid bronze sculpture, and not the cheap cold cast resin which some
mistaken sellers call bronze. Crafted using the "lost wax" hot cast method, a highly skilled process used for over 3500 years, and completed with a beautiful patina finish, these techniques guarantee that no two items will ever be identical. Keith was born in Stoke on Trent, the home of the Potteries and trained as a ceramic artist with Royal Doulton at the Burslem Factory. As a self-taught Sculptor working in clay he has produced a variety of subjects such as dogs, cats, wildlife and human form. Richard Cooper & Company work with UK sculptors and designers to create stunning and unique foundry bronze sculptures. Products range from the flamboyant figurative work of Landanski, through to the detailed wildlife studies of Michael Simpson. The foundry cast bronzes are produced using the lost wax method and sealed with a protective wax, preserving and enhancing the rich layers of patina applied to the surface. Each bronze is decorated and finished either using traditional patinas or by hand painting with acrylics and enamels. Most pieces are limited edition from 50 to a maximum of 150 depending on the piece. This ensures that the work will retain a value that will not be diluted by over-production and makes this item suitable as either a gift or an investment opportunity. |
