Cuprinol 5 STAR COMPLETE WOOD TREATMENT 1L

(FOR INTERIOR WOOD)

A clear all purpose treatment to kill wet rot, dry rot and woodworm

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cuprinol 5 Star Complete Wood Treatment is a clear solvent based wood treatment for the combined eradication of the two main enemies of timber - rot and insect attack. The formula kills not only dry rot and wet rot fungi, but also wood boring beetle larvae (woodworm). Its deep penetration ensures effective treatment and lasting protection against future attack. This low odour formula has been specially developed with low aromatic solvents to make it more pleasant and convenient to use.

Where to use

Cuprinol 5 Star Complete Wood Treatment (FP) is suitable for treating interior timbers such as roof joists before laying loft insulation. Do not use on beehives or bee keeping equipment.

How much is needed

Eradication of insect attack including House Longhorn Beetle;

Remaining/ replacement timbers in wet and dry rot eradication; Large new timbers:

Dip for at least 3 minutes or brush or spray 3 uniform coats. Use a minimum of 1 litre per 3 - 4 sq. metres.

Replacement timbers in woodworm eradication work, small new timbers, roof trusses, floorboards, joinery, etc:

Dip for 3 mins or brush or spray 2 - 3 uniform coats. Use a minimum of 1 litre per 4 sq. metres.

Preparing the job

Ensure timber is dry and free from bark, dust, dirt, organic growth and surface coatings including paint or varnish.

How to apply

Treat all surfaces. Wherever possible dip timber in fluid. Otherwise apply uniformly, flooding faces, ends and joints with at least two coats. Apply next coat after previous coat has soaked in but before it is dry. When spraying use a coarse (airless) spray and avoid atomisation (misting). The Cuprinol shed & Fence Preserver Sprayer is ideal for this. Re-treat any surfaces cut after treatment.

Note: The application of this product may cause darkening of some timbers. If colour is critical, try a test area first and allow to dry fully to ensure final appearance is acceptable. Treat all replacement timber. After full drying, glues, fillers and knotting can be used as normal. Bitumen, rubber and some plastic based materials may soften or swell on contact with fluid or solvent vapour. Ensure timber is fully dry (allow 6-8 weeks) or use a vapour barrier such as heavy duty polythene sheets (as used for damp proof membrane) before laying plastic floor tiles, foam or rubber-backed carpet, underlay or hanging vinyl wallpaper. Do not spill on tar, bitumen, bitumen felt, asphalt or mastics. When treating roof joists, first remove insulation and do not relay for at least 36 hours until treatment is dry.

Cleaning and storage

Clean equipment with white spirit. Remove as much preserver as possible from brushes before cleaning. For best results use Polycell Brush Cleaner. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature.
