1962 full-page original advertisement for Marchal, touting its Savoie ceramic sparking plugs, Fulgor high-powered horns, and fantastic fog and driving lamps. Features a drawing of the 1961 24 Hours of Le Mans winning Ferrari 250 TRI/61 alongside a road-going Ferrari 250. Extremely rare ad.
Hill and Gendebien piloted the number 10 1961 Ferrari 250 TRI/61 to its first-place finish for the Scuderia Ferrari. Following that, the car ran in several events for Luigi Chinetti's North American Racing Team, including the 1961 Canadian Grand Prix of Sports Cars, Nassau Trophy, and Nassau Governor's Trophy (where Rodriguez drove it to a first-place finish). It finished 15th in the 1962 Daytona Continental, and broke down while leading the 1962 Sebring 12 Hours in the capable hands of Moss and Ireland. The car was raced into the 1964 season.
Enough about the Ferrari—now let's talk about the ad. This 9 x 12" ad is printed on a nice, smooth semi-gloss stock. Handled with gloves, perfectly trimmed, and stored carded in a polypropylene sleeve.
In excellent condition, with a few handling dimples on the right side (see photo). Clean and crisp, sharp edges and corners. Page measures approximately 9 1/4" x 12 3/8" (23 x 31cm).
