Here we have a simply lovely stationery box in a dark red (ox blood leather) the box has several compartments for different pieces of correspondence.
The box has brass filigree panels to the top and bottom which are in themselves very attractive.
The box is lined in beige satin.
A beautiful item that will grace a side table or desk but is certainly a lovely decorative piece of tableware.
There are makers marks to this beautiful stationery box W & J Milne, 126 Princes Street, EDINBURGH. Photographed in gallery 

W & J Milne were in business from 1844-1905 and were celebrated box makers in fancy wood, leather.

Condition report
The box is generally in good condition, there are one or two marks to the leather these are faint but are there, the inside of the box is in good condition but to the right hand side facing the viewer there are some ink stains.

Also I am afraid I no longer have they key for this beautiful item.
