NOTES:              This is a view of the approach to Portsmouth on a blustery day. This engraving was produced by John
                            and Frederick Harwood. Which of them produced the drawing and which did the engraving, but as far
                            as I can make out the whole porcess was done 'in house' in 1843. It is mounted behind a lined pale
                            mount. I think the engraving is in reasonable condition but has some age relted toning. It was hand
                            coloured at a later date

This engraving is about 180 years old. I think it is in reasonable condition, but has some age related toning.

Presentation
The classic way to present engravings is to mount them behind a pale ivory mount which allows for equal widths at top and side and a bottom width which is wider. Common measurements are 50mm or 75mm for top and side and 75mm or 100mm for the bottom.
I think the mount's aperture should be cut just outboard of the border line to let the bevel cut do the work of guiding the eye.
The title is very effective if shown in an aperture beneath.
The classic frame is a Hogarth moulding in black and gold.

Usually, If I buy a framed picture at auction, I would expect to have to pay around £50 to someone like Mail Boxes Etc for shipping, but that includes collection, packing and shipping.
Frequently the cost of shipping is nearly as much as the picture itself, but does include a margin for commercial profit.
I do not aim to make a profit on the shipping costs.
