Antique 1927 Dresden Germany Christmas Glass Light Cover Grapes, With Original Box and Lid. The writing on the box says "Germany 8". There is also writing on the screw cap that reads: " *B.H.* Elektric Bulbs Without Flament. PAT. JAN. 1927 U.S.A."

From my understanding these were made in Germany and sold through NOMA in the U.S. So the cover would've been made and painted in Germany and then NOMA provided the lighting cap.

~ Black lamp base Not included. I sell these separately. If interested, let me know. ~

Very Good. This is one of the better covers I've seen. Because these are almost 100 years old, the paint has become brittle on nearly all of these glass covers. I don't think the paint was ever sealed with a protective coat in the beginning, so I'm sure the heat from the bulbs is a big reason for these peeling. With this grape cover there are cracks in the paint throughout, and chips in the paint, the most noticeable is towards the screw cap. Another flaw is that the screw cap is stuck, so I'm not sure if a bulb is inside and I don't want to risk the paint coming off by trying to force it open. I had tried with another cover and the paint fell off pretty easily. These covers are fragile to the touch and it's best not to touch wherever there is paint.

** Please see all photos for complete details, as these are apart of the description. I took many so you'll know exactly what you are receiving. **

NOTE: I know that this cover is super fragile, and I will do my best in packaging with lots of care. I can't wrap the actual bulb with bubblewrap because I'm sure that will stick to the paint. All I can do is add extra tissue paper and then wrap the outer box better, to keep it safe in transit. I cannot guarantee the paint won't come off in transit. USPS can be rough with packages, and I don't know if the slightest giggle to the package will cause the paint to flake. Insurance will be included, just to be safe. But I ask that you purchase at your own risk, knowing that anything can happen to this super fragile glass cover while in transit.
