Here is a group of new-old-stock vintage RCA 5840 miniature tubes, as used in the great vintage Altec tube mics, and other newer large diaphragm models as well, partially instigated by Dave Royer in an early TapeOp magazine; he designed a variation of the Neumann U47 circuit for this tube...this is one of 3 sales we have going of these 5840 tubes, please see our other listings...

There are 3 tubes and 3 sockets in this sale; the tubes have date codes from the 60s, and have been tested and read very good on our Accurate Instruments tester, where the scale is 1-100 and these all read in the high 70s, better than most new tubes...

That's my last 2 shielded sockets, you can see how this style socket will make a great tube mic build...and one regular chassis mount type...
