Here is a vintage honey pot or open sugar bowl, decorated with the Bluebell & Heather pattern, made in stoneware by Buchan Pottery, Portobello Scotland in the 1970s.

Buchan Pottery was established in Portobello Scotland in 1867 by Alexander Buchan, it relocated to Crieff in 1972 and the pottery closed in 2000. Being stoneware, it is oven proof, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

The pot is 6cm tall by 10cm in diameter at the base 7cm across the rim by 5cm deep and is in good condition free from chips or cracks just the odd light mark commensurate with use or age. On the underside are the Buchan mark used from 1949 onwards, which is a thistle design with the words BUCHAN Portobello Scotland within the thistle motif and FINEST STONEWARE beneath and the size & pattern marks 3437 61. The unpackaged weight is 343 grams.

A nick is a tiny bit of damage smaller than 1mm and a chip is something you can see with the eye; a hairline runs over the surface glazing but not the body of the item and a crack runs through the body of the item, usually weakening its structure.

But we also offer several options for a faster delivery, so if you require the item quicker, just select the Royal Mail 24hr special delivery (Next Day by 1pm) or 1st Class recorded (1 to 2 days) to get it faster from the postage options. We despatch all items within 3 days of payment being received. Sorry but we do not dispatch at weekends or bank holidays.
