BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN HAND PAINTED SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT IN OAK FRAME
circa 1800

This is Beautiful Hand Painted Silhouette Portrait Miniature of a Lady,  i would estimate this was crafted circa 1800  making it over 220 years old, The detailing is exquisite,  the Silouette as you can see has been hand painted in either Soot or Ink, its lovely, she is a young lady with a wonderful hairstyle which has been scratched to highlight the waves and curls in her hair, her profile is delicate and you can even see her eyelashes, she is wearing a pearl necklace and a wonderful delicate dress, all this has been scratched and smoodged to reveal every detail,  this is a wonderful Georgian Silouette, this appears to be on card and is the framed in Oak, i believe this is all original and hasnt been altered as you can see at the back of the Silouette, it is all original and has some writting numbers though i dont know its meaning, its beautiful very unusual in design, it hasnt been signed so i dont know the artist.  The quality of the craftsmanship is superb,  this would have once belonged to a weathly Geogian Lady or Gentleman, it may have been a love token given to a young lady be her betrothed, this was many years ago when times were so very different.   It is so very tactile and once picked up has the most wonderful feel, it is a wonderful example of a fine quality    this will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice, the condition is wonderful, the marks to the portrait are just shadows cast by the sun.
