ABOUT THE STAMP:
This issue is a tribute to Violeta Parra, composer, singer, plastic artist, ceramist, important folklorist of her country and founder of Chilean popular music. The stamp features the image of Violet, accompanied by her guitar, photographed during a presentation at the "La Scala" Room in Paris, in 1953. Under her photo, an excerpt from the score of one of her songs appears, highlighting the musicality of composer, and the commemorative logo of the 100th anniversary of his birth. At the bottom of the stamp was used the color violet in reference to the name of the honoree. To emphasize his talent as a plastic artist, the leaf of this issue, with 20 stamps, was composed on the image of his work "Niños en Fiesta", papier-mâché relief on agglomerated wood, from 1963-1965. In the conception of art the technique of photography and computer graphics was used.
