Bell 206 JetRanger is a modern, American, light, multi-role semi-shell helicopter with a fixed skid undercarriage in a classic arrangement with a main rotor and a tail rotor on the beam. The flight of the first prototype took place in 1960. Serial production started two years later (1962) and still continues. To date, more than 7,300 machines of this type have been built. The drive is provided by a single motor Allison 250-C20J with a power of 420 hp. The length of the helicopter is 11.9 meters and the main rotor diameter is 14.63 meters.

The Bell 206 helicopter was originally designed for the US Army as a light and multi-purpose observation machine. However, it was only after a series of modernizations and improvements that led to the creation of the Bell 206A that the American armed forces decided to introduce it to the line in the late 1960s. At the same time, the Bell company began offering its new helicopter on the civilian market with a huge commercial success. In the course of production, many versions of this machine were created, such as: Bell 206B (version with a different drive unit), Bell 206L (version that can take a larger number of passengers) or Bell 206L-1 (version with a reinforced engine). At present, the Bell 206 machine, in various versions, is operated by the US Navy, numerous units and police departments in the US and other countries of the world, as well as by many civilian customers!!
