Stunning porcelain oval serving bowl in the Blue Danube pattern by Blue
Danube China. Blue Danube porcelain dinnerware was made in Japan
exclusively for distribution by New York importers Lipper and Mann in 1951.
The dark blue flowers on a snow white background was copied from Meissen's
Onion pattern. The pattern was underglazed and fired at extremely high
temperatures, making each piece microwave and dishwasher safe, detergent
proof and highly resistant to chipping.
The backstamp on this bowl dates it to the 1977 - 2000 period. The pattern was discontinued in 2010.
The bowl is in excellent pre-owned condition.
