This gorgeous sterling silver and enamel thimble was produced in Norway. The scene depicts the midnight sun over the North Cape of Norway with gorgeous blue and pink hues and birds flying overhead.

Thimble by Kristian Hestenes * This enamel style, where an engine turned design in the silver shows through the translucent background enamel, is known as guilloche enamel . The top is set with a dimpled moonstone. Inside the top is marked "925 KH" and it has the maker's mark used by Kristian Hestenes of Bergen starting in 1904. The lack of the word "Norway" as part of the mark indicates one of his earlier thimbles.
