• We've had 3 or 4 of these now over the years and this has to be one of the largest most detailed pieces we've had yet! This piece is located in Germany still (yes legal in US) but will take a while to be shipped depending on it's destination.

This is an Ichthyosaur skeleton of the species Stenopterygius quadriscissus, from Hozmaden, Germany (yes it is legal to own Ichthyosaurs from Germany). It was found in 1983, with preparations not starting until 2019. The process took an estimated 1,000 hours over the course of three long years, and was undertaken by a father-son team. They now want to sell this beautiful skeleton that boasts all original parts! All of the anatomy seems to be present except the back limbs. It is a world-class investment grade specimen worthy of the finest auction houses!

The two ribs separated from the skeleton near the tail are most likely from another Ichthyosaurus that died nearby, not this one.
