In this listing is a mint condition wide angle zoom by Sigma
(S/N 120027xx). Sigma is another 3rd party manufacturer of Alpha
mount lenses that offers excellent build and optics, comparable to OEM but at a
better price. The build on this lens is newer (2009) with modern styling and
more lightweight materials while the finish is a durable polycarbonate coating.
This Sony Alpha mount lens will require and adapter for use with Sony E Mount camera bodies.
The internal HSM AF is fast
and silent. No gears or drive shafts…AF is adjusted via the HSM hypersonic
motor. The filter thread is 72mm. MFD is just 22cm, or approximately 10” with a
1:2.7 magnification, not a bad macro spec. With the “DC” designation, the glass
has digital coatings, for reduced sensor ghosting in tough lighting. Built-in Optical Stabilization rounds out this fully featured and well engineered lens.
Some sites point out that
this lens requires an upgrade to work on the Sony a65 and a77. I have tested
the lens on both models and it is fully compatible.
Optically, there are no marks
to the glass surfaces and no fungus inside the lens. The aperture blades are
snappy and oil free and the mount looks brand new. Both zoom and focus rotate
smoothly. Extras include a locking zoom ring and AF/MF switch. This is a

detect any wear on the lens – it pretty much looks brand new Even the lens caps looks brand new.

With the mass conversion to
DSLR’s, it’s tough to find a good wide angle lens for your DSLR or film camera

need a lens that reaches this wide field-of-view because their
