Star Sapphire

New with tag. This is a lovely ring designed by Indonesian artisans, in size 6.75. The stone is a genuine sapphire from Thailand, and the setting is sterling silver, stamped 925.

Under regular daylight, the sapphire is a smooth dark blue color.  Under incandescent light, or a single direct light source (for example, most regular house lights), the stone displays a distinct star.  Photos in this listing were taken under two different light sources, to show how the ring looks in each situation.  The first, second and fourth photos in this listing were taken using the light from my desk lamp to display the lovely star  The third and fifth photos were taken in the natural daylight coming through my living room widow, and it shows the glossy dark blue cabochon cut stone.  

The star sapphire is a 7mm round cut stone, and weighs 2.4cts. The stone is bezel set, and the sterling silver setting is decorated with dots of silver.  This unusual sapphire ring weighs 4.2 grams.
