This is NOT a "Real Photo" per se ... but rather an authentic 1800's hand-designed lithograph 

from a photo image.  Authentic 19th Century "Photo-View" / "Photo-Lithograph" cards like this one were 

based upon actual photographs;  lithographers transferred the photo images to lith stones or plates, often taking 

slight "liberties" in the process... perhaps removing a object or adding people (sometimes disproportionately sized).

1800's Photo-Lith images are historically important and sometimes as rare and detailed as period photographs.
