FASHIONED OF A PURPLE THICK FELT WOOL WITH A CROWN TRIMMED IN VELVET AND SILK FLOSS EMBROIDERED NET WITH SEQUIN TRIMS WITH A WIRED SILK BOW AND WIRED EMBROIDERED TAIL TRIMMING.
MILINARY WIRE IS ON EACH SIDE AND I SUSPECT THAT IT WOULD HAVE HELD ADDITIONAL SILK RIBBON. THE WIRING CAN SHAPE THE BRIM.
INTERIOR IS LINED IN A BLACK POLISHED COTTON WITH PURPLE VELVET TRIMMING THE INNER BRIM EDGE.
CONDITION: THIS PIECE IS DUSTY FROM ESTATE STORAGE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND A DRY CLEANING. THE TRIM IS BREAKING THROUGHOUT BOTH THE EMBROIDERED YET AS WELL AS THE PURPLE WIRED SILK BOW AND I WOULD CONSIDER REPLACING ALL OF THE TRIMS.
SEVERAL SMALL SURFACE NIPS ARE IN THE FELT WOOL ON THE UPPER BRIM WITH SOME SCATTERED TINY POINTS ON THE SURFACE OF THE UNDER BRIM.
SUCH A RARE COLOR TO FIND, WELL WORTH OF RESTORATION.
