Tested the lens quality on Canon 50D – comparing it to the excellent prime Sigma 50mm f1.4 ART: the EFS 17-55mm f2.8 zoom lens is still of a supurboptical quality and built (as seen in images - as is: no local contrast applied).

Lens rubber feels a bit sticky to the touch. Still, the Canon EFS 17-55mm f2.8 Ultrasonic is a perfect addition to anon-full-frame (APS-C) canon DSLR.
