THE STORY ABOUT THIS PAINTING: I purchased this painting more than 20 years ago. Read the printout of the email to me from the gentleman from whom I purchased the painting. It's fascinating.

“I have owned the painting for 20 years and believed until 2022 that it was done as a collaboration between Al Hair and Backus. In November, 2022, husband and wife Highwaymen experts came to my office to purchase an Al Hair painting. I showed them this painting. Both of them were certain that it was a Backus. Each confirmed that Backus did not sign every one of his paintings.”
