Halocaridina rubra is the shrimp from brackish ponds in Hawai. It´s very tolerant shrimp - temperature is usually 17-30 ° C. 

Halocaridinas is one of the best osmoregulator in the world, it has to alive large fluctuations of salinity, but the best is about 10-15‰ but they usually alive in freshwater and marine ecosystems too. This small shrimp growing only 1.5 centimeters and could live for more than 20 years!

It is usually used for normal brackish aquariums but for autonomous biological system like water ecosphere etc too. 

They are also known as Red Hawaiian Shrimp and Volcano Shrimp. Their color is usually from red to transparent.

You can breed them in brackish tanks, feed them by spirulina and other algae food for aquarium fish. But if you have good light and some algae in the tank, there is no need to feed them frequently.
