Vintage brooch from the '80s with a nautical theme. Circular base is wrapped in a navy blue grosgrain ribbon and topped with a navy blue and white grosgrain bow. The hardware features a crown flanked by a pineapple and a flower and is embossed with the motto for the (British) Order of the Garter: "Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense" (approximately translated as "shamed be he who thinks of evil.") In the middle of the brooch is a white center with a gold anchor. The brooch is the closest our family got to the life of luxury that the brooch was meant to symbolize - yachting and British royalty.

The brooch is in good condition. Everything is intact with only some minor wear on the metal.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions before purchasing the item. I have tried to describe the item to the best of my abilities. Returns are not accepted unless the item has been grossly misrepresented.

I am not a professional seller, and all my listings are from my family's or my personal collection. I will be decluttering and posting things from my parents' estate over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for vintage items and name brand clothing.

All items come from a smoke free home. I do use 100% natural essential oil diffusers in my house as a natural pest repellant. I try to air out the items before packing and shipping, but I want to be transparent in case there are any concerns about allergies or sensitivities to scents.

I will ship the item within 3 business days once payment has cleared.
