| Danish West Indies 1865-79 BRITISH POST OFFICE - Victoria stamps cancelled "C51" & others - specialized collection - Rare Fantastic specialized collection dedicated to the British Post Office in Danish West Indies (Victoria period) from it's first supply of stamps in 1865 until it's closure in 1877/79. All types of "C51" and Circular Dated Stamp cancellations represented in about 350 Victoria stamps up to high values and from a variety of plates including multiples, on piece and 2 letters. Total Scott catalogue value for the "C51" and St.Thomas cancellation is close to 40,000 usd not considering rare types of cancel or plates. However, this value has stayed idle for so many years as the same stamps in simple used condition already surpassed far more in catalogue value in the Great Britain section. Obviously the St. Thomas & C51 type of cancels are far more valuable. |
