ULTRA RARE FIRST EDITION OF THIS BOOK ON JIU-JITSU BY CAPTAIN HARRY H. SKINNER.

Titled, Jiu-Jitsu : The Japanese Method of Attack and Self Defense, authored by Captain Henry H. Skinner, FIRST EDITION published by the Japan Publishing Company in 1904, with poses by B.H. Kuwashima.  Overall in VERY GOOD CONDITION.  Green cloth boards with clear white and red front cover and spine titling.  The boards have moderate corner and top/bottom spine wear, a few light soil marks.  A previous owner inked name on first free endpaper and also did a home repair with now yellowed tape to secure the first free endpaper into the binding - see listing photo.  A similar fix was found in the interior of the book, also shown in a listing photo.  The pages were thick glossy pages.  The previous owner penciled numbers above several of the photo illustrations - see listing photo for example.  These were the only markings in the book.  118 bound pages, a few secured into the binding using tape as noted.
