    The widest focal length range among ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses exclusively for digital cameras, 10-24mm, covers a wide range of focal lengths from 16mm to 37mm (equivalent to a semi-wide-angle lens) on the 35mm film equivalent. The ultra wide-angle range captures magnificent scenes far beyond the field of view in a single photo, while the quasi-wide-angle range provides a human-like field of view for snapshots. This zoom lens allows you to capture a variety of wide-angle expressions with this single lens. Compared to our previous model (SP AF11-18mm F/4.5-5.6 Di II), it has a wider focal range and a brighter maximum aperture F value with improved specifications, while maintaining a versatile, lightweight and compact body. *As of August 2008, based on our survey of ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses exclusively for APS-C size digital SLR cameras.
  • High-image-quality design using large-diameter glass-molded aspherical lens
    The use of a high-precision large-aperture glass-molded aspherical lens and three compound aspherical lenses corrects spherical aberration, coma aberration, distortion, and other aberrations to achieve the high image quality that is appropriate for the SP series.
  • Minimum focusing distance of 0.24m achieved throughout the entire zoom range
    At a focal length of 10mm, the camera produces photographs with an emphasis on perspective, and at a focal length of 24mm, it achieves a maximum magnification of 1:5.1, which is the highest in its class*. The minimum focusing distance of 0.24m achieved across the entire zoom range allows users to enjoy a wide variety of close-up expressions.
