HI FELLOW COLLECTORS!  IF YOU KNOW OF OR ARE LOOKING FOR OF ONE OF A KIND OFFERINGS OF HIGH ENERGY 80's ROCK 'N ROLL RADIO SHOWS, HOSTED BY NATIONALLY KNOWN DJ's, YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

THESE ARE GREAT RADIO SHOWS FROM THOSE VINTAGE YEARS OF RADIO SHOWS WHEN DJ'S WERE ALLOWED TO BE DJ'S AND NOT JUST ROBOTS PLAYING 'MOST MUSIC', AND WHEN SHOWS HAD SPECIAL RARE INTERVIEWS AND OFTEN FASCINATING THEMES, AND NOT JUST THE SAME MUSIC EVERY HOUR, OVER AND OVER. YOU WILL LOVE NOT ONLY THIS SHOW BUT ALL THE SHOWS LISTED BY KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES.

AND, THEY ARE RARE BUT HOW DO YOU DEFINE RARENESS??  LET ME TELL YOU!

FIRST OF ALL THERE WERE NO MORE THAN 175 LP OR CD SETS OF EACH SHOW PRESSED.  THIS IS BECAUSE THEY WERE SENT ONLY TO THE AFFILIATE RADIO STATION IN THE TOP 175 RADIO MARKETS IN THE COUNTRY AND ONLY ONE STATION IN EACH MARKET COULD AIR THE SHOW.

STATIONS IN MARKETS BELOW THE TOP 175 (THERE ARE 306 MARKETS IN THE UNITED STATES) HAD TO PRESENT THE SHOW THROUGH THE SATELLITE FEED OF THE SHOW FROM THE SYNDICATOR OF THE SERIES)

AND, DUE TO CONTRACTUAL LEGAL OBLIGATIONS, EACH RADIO STATION WAS ALLOWED TO AIR EACH SHOW EXACTLY ONCE AND NO MORE.

SO, MOST RADIO STATIONS JUST THREW THEM AFTER AIRING SINCE THEY WERE USELESS TO THE STATION AFTER AIRING.  THERE IS NO TELLING HOW MANY OF EACH SHOW SURVIVED.

WHO KNOWS - THIS COULD BE THE ONLY ONE.

WELCOME EVERYONE TO KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES, ONE OF EBAY'S PREMIERE BUYERS AND SELLERS OF PRISTINE RARE RADIO SHOWS OF ALL GENRES ALONG WITH OTHER GREAT VINTAGE AMERICANA.

LET ME FIRST DESCRIBE THIS CLASSIC SHOW  80's PARTY AMERICA    AND THEN IF YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT RADIO SHOWS, PLEASE READ ON FOR MY BRIEF 'RADIO SHOWS 101' DESCRIPTION AND HOW I GOT INTO COLLECTING SOME 35 YEARS AGO.

THIS IS ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE RAREST RADIO SHOWS THAT EVER AIRED BECAUSE OF ITS LIMITED DISTRIBUTION.  IT FEATURED TWO AMAZING DJ's.  THE FIRST WAS 'FAST JIMI ROBERTS' BEST KNOWN FROM WPLJ IN NEW YORK CITY,  AND THE SECOND, MAGIC MATT ALLEN FROM Z-100 IN NEW YORK CITY AND KIIS-FM IN LOS ANGELES

Best known for his fifteen year run at 95.5 WPLJ New York, Fast Jimi Roberts he had spent the past twenty years at the CBS Radio now Entercom cluster with time in afternoons at CHR “B102.7” WXYV, Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX, and Oldies 102.7 WQSR before moving to WLIF in Baltimore in 2005. He began his career in his native Louisiana and worked at WMEE Fort Wayne, KIIQ Colorado Springs and WMJY Long Branch NJ before moving to WPLJ in 1984

On May 3, 1974, Roberts said,  'I walked into KLIC in Monroe, Louisiana, with a 5-minute tape of news for my first job interview. Two hours later, I was on the air with no experience, and a career was born. 45 years! Wow, how did that happen?! My journey took me from Louisiana to Mississippi, Indiana, Colorado, NYC, Washington DC and Baltimore.'

Magic Matt Alan was born in Portland, Oregon  and began his career in radio in Washington state.  After stints at KNBQ in Tacoma, Seattle's KYYX, KJR, KFI Los Angeles and at KRBE in Houston.  Alan came to prominence as the most listened to afternoon drive time radio personality in America at the leading New York Top 40 radio station Z100 in the '80s. However, Z100 star DJ Scott Shannon was a fixture in the morning shift, blocking any possibility of Alan graduating to that slot.

In 1989, after a successful stint in New York City, Alan was lured to leading Los Angeles Top 40 station 102.7 KIIS-FM. Alan's "high energy" afternoon show was again very successful in this market. In fact, by 1991, Alan's ratings had surpassed those of nationally syndicated KIIS-FM morning host Rick Dees   Alan pressed the KIIS-FM management for a promotion to the breakfast shift, but the station refused, according to Alan, because Dees was tied to a long-term contract.  This impasse led to Alan being fired from KIIS-FM in October 1991, with management citing philosophical differences over the direction of his show.

After a stint in San Diego,  and a brief return to KIIS-FM in 1996, Alan, also known as Mr. Cigar, created OUTLAW RADIO USA broadcasting from an 1876 style Virginia City Bar built in his backyard. His live Saturday show on the Internet features many famous and semi-famous guests, plus a crew of "regulars" whose motto is "We Smoke We Drink We Interrupt." Alan is currently heard on the Sirius/XM 70's on 7 channel.

CUTLER PRODUCTIONS' PARTY AMERICA are presented on virgin vinyl and contain great music, interviews and special features.

The show comes on  2 LP's in like new condition  and are distributed by THE CUTLER PRODUCTIONS SPECIAL FEATURES RADIO NETWORKS.

THIS SHOW AIRED ON  JANUARY 26, 1991 AND IS SHOW 91-04

Even the national commercials from 35 plus years ago sound fun and bring back good memories even though we all hated them back then because it took away from the music and the dj!

On this show, they include TGI Fridays,Mounds/Almond Joy, Greyhound Lines, Frito Lay's Doritos, US Navy, Help Save Planet Earth , and more

I HAVE ONLY A FEW OF THE FANTASTIC LP SHOWS FROM THIS SERIES AND  WILL BE LISTING THEM UNTIL THEY ARE GONE.  MOST OF YOUR FAVORITE  ARTISTS FROM THAT ERA ARE REPRESENTED.

THE MUSIC FROM THIS GREAT SHOW CAN BE SEEN ON THE PICTURED CUE SHEETS IN THE LISTING

CUE SHEETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS SHOW, AND ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION

BUT EVEN THE CUE SHEETS DO NOT LET YOU KNOW ALL THE INFORMATION.  THEY ARE A GUIDE MOSTLY FOR THE AFFILIATE RADIO STATION BOARD OPERATORS WHO RUN THE SHOW AND HAVE TO KNOW EACH SEGMENT LENGTH SO THEY CAN INSERT THEIR STATION'S LOCAL COMMERCIALS AT THE PROPER TIME.  SO CUE SHEETS GIVE ONLY THE BASIC INFORMATION.  THEY DO NOT TELL WHAT THE THEME IS FOR EACH SEGMENT.  MANY DO NOT NOTE THE ARTIST INTERVIEWS OR OTHER FEATURES. SO, EACH PART OF THE SHOW WILL BE EXCITING AND FUN TO YOU

SO WHAT ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT RADIO SHOWS?

LET ME TELL YOU BUT FIRST....

Allow me tell you my own personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows.

I discovered radio shows quite by accident while reading one of my favorite (long since departed) magazines called "Discoveries" (It was later bought by the same company that publishes "Goldmine" which I personally always considered a lesser publication, but that is another story.

This was before ebay became the driving force in radio show sales (and everything else) in the later 1990's.

I was especially attracted in "Discoveries" to a two page (or more) spread in each issue by a guy called "The Old Hippie".

Let me tell you, the Old Hippie had it all.  He was a real pioneer.  Way before anyone knew what radio shows even were let alone that they could be bought as rarities, he had the market cornered.

Most shows that he advertised were way beyond my budget but I drooled over those pages every issue and once in awhile I could afford one or two.

Now, I have attempted in my own humble way to take on the mantle of "The Old Hippie".  I have listed over 11,000 unique radio shows of all genres for you all to drool over, and most at prices, hopefully, that collectors can better afford!  I want to make available to collectors what I could not afford and especially in these days of higher prices and lesser availability.

Radio shows are harder and harder to find in quantity and the prices for the ones still out there just go higher and higher as they disappear from the market.  However, because of my large presence on eBay, I am often contacted with selling offers, some of which I take advantage of and some I have to pass on because of the prices. I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles.

And, even though I price all my shows so that I make very little on each sale, most of which I use to buy more shows to make available to you, if you find the price too high, let me know and we can likely work out something you can afford.  I want everyone to be able to have what they want for their collection.

So, again, what is a radio show?

Radio Shows are syndicated productions provided to radio stations usually on what is called a 'barter arrangement'.  There were several large and small distributors who supplied broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break, although in recent years, through bigger companies absorbing smaller ones and many going out of business because the competition was just too fierce, there are only a few big syndicators left.  This is sad because it has led to more homogenization of different formats and selection available for stations and often less creativity in the shows.

Most aired on Saturday or Sundays.  They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others.

People collect them for various reasons.

Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all.

Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music.  Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining.

Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments.

Some collect commercials and as I said, even these old vintage commercials now bring back memories.

Radio shows were first distributed on reel to reel tape or on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR.  Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes.

These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them.

The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase.   I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money.

I sell them for near what I bought them for.  I give volume discounts and discount postage always.  As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased.

And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over fifteen thousand of shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had.

Finally, it is Americana at its best.  Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown.

And you just can't find them anywhere.

Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any.

Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise.  And every  one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life!

So, I hope you will join me in this and many more  wondrous voyages on the 'SS Keith's Kollectables' as we take exciting journeys together exploring the treasures of radio shows we grew up with and thought were long lost.

May the lost be found!!
