Vintage Correct Parts is proud to offer, for your consideration, a fantastic

Vintage 1977 Ibanez 2461 "Johnny Smith" Archtop.

You're looking at a simply breathtaking Ibanez Archtop!
In the early 70's Ibanez set out to make precision copies of Gibson's top-end instruments. So successful were they that Gibson sued to stop production, which was subsequently halted under court order. Now known as 'lawsuit' L-5s, these guitars have become legendary for their their scrupulous faithfulness to the originals.
Meticulously constructed, this guitar, model 2461BS, is virtually identical in dimensions, scale and bracing to it's Gibson namesake, and bears the signature of its builder on it's label. The solid ebony fingerboard is inlaid with pearl split block inlays , and the body shows particularly handsome bookmatched tiger flame in the back and sides. Fitted with all original gold hardware, the guitar has the rare twin floating mini-humbucking pickups, with 3 way rotary pickup selector and independent volume and tone controls.

This example has been kept in great condition. It is crack free, and only shows a few minor dings to the fully original finish.

A handmade classic, this guitar is the work of Japanese master builder M. Sugihara.

The back is laced with tight fiddleback flame maple, beautifully bookmatched in a chevron pattern. All original hardware is included. These are a fantastic value in the vintage archtop market and VERY rarely found in this condition.  Famously used by George Benson, Russell Malone and Mark Whitfield the reputation and quality of this era of Ibanez are now absolutely legendary!

The original blue plush lined hard case is included as pictured!
