WHAT THE BOOK GRADINGS MEAN:
NEAR MINT (NM): Without defects, unread, in the same condition in which it was published.
VERY FINE (VF): Approaches the above, but careful inspection may reveal very minor spots of wear from careful handling.
FINE (F): Approaches the above, but not as crisp. May show signs of having been carefully read, but no real defects or faults.
NEAR FINE: Book or dustjacket approaching FINE but with a couple of very minor faults, such as minor rubs/scuffing from handling.
VERY GOOD: A used book showing some small signs of wear from handling on either binding or dustjacket. Spine is still tight. Any small tears on DJ or pages will be noted.
GOOD: The average used and worn book that has all pages or leaves present. Any damage will be noted.
FAIR: A worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title page, etc. (which must be noted). Binding, dustjacket, etc. may also be worn. All defects/faults will be noted.
