As seen in the last listing photo, this game was produced by H.M. Miller around 1920 (from a 1998 toy catalog).  The box shows heavy wear with a chunk on the front flap out, some seam splitting, some soiling.  The rings feel like metal (not heavy rubber or plastic).  There is a metal plate and what I presume is the original metal prong that fits into the hole in the plate for use in the game.  Found in the same estate near the game was a book based on the same character - The Adventures of a Brownie.  The book was authored by Dinah Maria Mulock, aka Mrs. Craik, First Edition published by John C. Winston.  Like the game, it is well worn, with two color plates (frontispiece and one other), and several within-text and B&W plates, some of which were colored in. 102 pages.
