Fender 1957 Tweed Super Amp Amplifier, Dwight Twilly, Girls, Scuba Diver, were all recorded when Bill Pitcock Played through this amp while recording these songs with Dwight Twilly. This particular amp is featured in this month's issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine ,written by Dave Hunter. There is recent proof of a similar 1957 Tweed Super having sold through Heritage Auctions for just over $31,000.00.... See photo of ad that also ran in vintage Guitar magazine several times in the previous issues.
The filter caps have been replaced as have the 2 10" jensen P-10 Q's that were "cooked" by the really underrated 35 watts of rms power that this little puppy cooks... As a class A type amplification this sounds more like 3000 watts and is impossible to stand next to without ear protection. An Altec 12" speaker is currently handling all this amp can put out, and was likely changed out in the early 1960's. This is the Super updated this year with 6L6GC tubes which make it much more desirable than the previous 6V6 tube equipped Supers...IT was said that this was Leo Fender's favorite amp...
