An original Australian gelatin silver print photograph dating to 1933,  in format 110 x 150 mm, on its original board mount which is signed on the front "F. FOXCROFT, photo. Hodgson St., Fitzroy".

Frank Foxcroft, with his studio in Bright, was one of the most noted photographers of the Victorian Alps in the late 19th and early 20th century. Later in his life he relocated to Fitzroy, Melbourne, where he lived at 25 Hodgson Street until his death in June 1936.

This photograph of a happy group on a day out at Alphington boathouse in Melbourne, is signed in Foxcroft's own neat hand. On the back is written in another hand in pencil: "Mrs Gardner. March 1933. Rudder Grange."

The print is in very good condition with some minor pale foxing; the mount has a couple of stains.
