Here we have a charming little oil on panel of a young child with a book pen in hand. The child has beautiful curly hair could be a little boy or girl and is wearing a white shirt and dark pantaloons.
The child has what looks like pens or pencils/brushes tied at their waist next to an artists palette.
This could be a young child painting and skating their painting first.
A lovely painting from the turn of the 19th century.

Condition report.
The painting is fresh and clear and generally in good condition considering its age, there is some craquelure around the child’s neck and shoulders showing as fine lines this is faint and does not detract from the aesthetic appeal.
There is also a few little dark patches on the painting on the top right these I am not sure whether they are intended as background as quite a lot of the background is similar or not.
However this is a charming little painting that is well over 130 years old.
