I cannot give enough praise for Mark Johnson and the guitars that he builds. Each one is truly a work of art. This particular build was an ode to a vintage Fender Strat he once owned. He told me that the guitar was based off of the Fender he used to own (and regretted selling long ago). When I met Michael, he told me he wanted to get that strat sound and he felt putting in reverse wound pups would do the trick (and he was right!). The red finish was also an throwback to the Fender he once had. I cannot stress just how cool this guitar is and just how cool all of MJ Engineering guitars are. (Look up the Carol Shelby guitar / amp he build or the Motorcycle guitar amp to name a few). Master builder. Master guitar. period!
