The buckle can be removed by untying the leather strings at the end of the belt. The belt is easily interchangeable with other buckles. It was handmade in New Mexico from the shedded skin of an unharmed desert rattlesnake. Though it has a few benign tears from its age, these are small and inconsequential. It is in good working condition.
