For your consideration is a wonderful piece of comedy history:  "The Playboy of the Western World" by J.M. Synge.  While this book was reprinted for years, this is a true first edition.  1907, printed in Dublin from Maunsel and Co.  In addition to being "the best of the best" as far as the edition, this is in fantastic condition for a book well over 100 years old.  Corners only show a small amount of wear, general edgewear as shown, but solid.  The covers are very well-attached to the spine.  Minor soiling at most.  The binding is almost as good as a new book with no repairs.  Bookplate as shown and some tanning but the pages are generally clean.  This is an investment-grade book with character you can't buy at Barnes and Noble.
