Don't expect to find another one of these, ever. This is a linen towel advertising the Nizhonie Fabric Co. of Cortez, Colorado. The design is a hand silk-screened kachina over the store information, including address and phone number. The company was run in the 50s by brothers Frank and Keith Austin and produced just 20 hand silk-screend fabric print designs and 10 border prints. Most of those are one- or two-color prints. The store also sold gifts and other Native handcrafts.

This is a linen towel that measures 26" x 16" and has a casing stitched across the top edge of the back to hang it from a dowel. No holes, tears, repairs or loose stitching. The colors have faded over time from washing and there are a couple of faint brownish stains at the bottom (see photos), but it is still a beautiful piece of textile and Trading Post history and suitable for framing.

Please note that the photos are considered to be part of my description! I describe things as accurately as I can but I am not an expert so expect that people will have a good look at the photos and use the magnifier. Please request additional photos or information before bidding!
