Fore Art 2006 1/72 M142 HIMARS High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Model Kit
The M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) is a wheeled self-propelled multiple rocket artillery developed by the US Army for long-range interdiction artillery.
- HIMARS is a smaller version of the MLRS and is mainly deployed in the U.S. military's rapid deployment forces, such as the Airborne Forces and Marine Corps, as well as light infantry divisions that can perform intensive operations with rapid transportation.
- While the conventionally deployed MLRS had tremendous destructive power and long-range support capabilities, it weighed approximately 25 tons and required a large transport aircraft to transport, making it difficult to quickly transport troops overseas. There were restrictions on deployment.
- Therefore, this vehicle was developed as a long-range fire support weapon equipped with an armored cab of a military 6-wheel drive truck with a payload capacity of 5 tons, which can be transported by the C-130 Hercules, and equipped with an FCS/MLRS launcher. .
- Since HIMARS is lighter and smaller than MLRS, it can travel long distances by itself, and production, maintenance and maintenance costs are also lower.
- The kit is delicately reproduced down to the frame and engine, and the multiple rocket gun system mounted on the rear of the vehicle can be moved or fired, and can be rotated left and right.
- Kit includes etchings and decals, wheels are 3D printed.
