This is a Vintage GEM V97, "Featherweight", (spring loaded flip-top), single edged safety razor, manufactured at some unknown time during the 1950's but after 1953, in its original carrying case. The handle is plastic. The entire head and neck are chrome plated brass, some say nickel plating, yet it is chrome plating. It has been cleaned, sanitized and inspected, and yes, these razors are super light to hold in the hand, coming in at the weight of 33 grams.  Featherweight was the perfect name. It's said that because of being so light there was and is the tendency to press hard, while shaving, causing one to find out there was [no need] to press hard! This razor is in excellent condition. Please look at the pictures.

This GEM V97 cleaned up extremely well and shows no sign of damage and can be used as intended. The flip-top cap/blade cover closes tight, as it should. This razor saw little use. There are some fine scratches on the top-cap which could be buffed out but were left alone. The carrying case has also survived in excellent condition. It shows no real signs of abuse or damage. It shows a few minor scratches on the cover and the green lower part of the case has a very small chip at the latch point, but snaps shut when secured. This case cover does close proper, push in on the bottom green half & thumb up the cover! Look at the photos and judge for yourself.

As for the blade pack. It is a little different and unique. It is what you see, a (ten-blade) pack with dispenser for used blades, in its original paper box. There are in fact ten blades in it. The seller has not removed the blades for inspection, at the same time I have no reason to question their originality. The blades are GEM blades made for the V97. This blade pack was recovered with the V97 in tow. Again, please look at all of the photos.

Everything we see in the photos, if sold will be shipped to the next owner.

Thank You for looking.
