Really nice example of the great Japanese Fender years. Appears to be all original, from March 1984.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably already aware that during the 1984-1987 period of Fender's SQ and JV instruments, there was zero difference between Fender and Squier- same instruments build by the same experts on the  same line in the same plant, using the same ‘ingredients’- only differences were (1) any better neck woods would be thrown into the Fender pile, and (2) Fenders were available in custom colors. And that’s it. In short, if you’re ever going to own a Squier, the 1984-1987 MIJ models are the ones to have. Or you can buy the same bass with “Fender” on the neck and pay $600-$1000 additional for the privilege.

Cosmetically there are some scratches and a few minor dings as would be expected of a forty year-old instrument; overall it looks great and plays really, really wonderfully. The build quality is amazing. The neck is fantastic, it balances well with no head dive, and the pickups are excellent-going from growl to thump with no problem.

I’ve been playing these SQ and JV models for many years and no matter what else I find, I always come back to these. My #1 go-to is another version of this one, same model and year- and I’ve got some seriously expensive and killer basses in my studio. Something’s gotta go to help pay for a custom build, however, and I don’t need four of these SQ models, so…  make my loss your gain this holiday season.  Includes the original hardshell case. Any questions, please let me know. Thanks for checking this out!
