Victorian Human Hair Mourning Wreath Art 1800's

Semi-circle pattern indicating the use in remembering a loved one with ascension to heaven but not certain as there was use of this pattern upside down. Pre-photograph way of remembering friends and family.

Woven with the deceased's hair. No background on this piece unfortunately.

A tradition of the victorian period no longer in wide usage.

A beautiful curiosity for those who wish to collect and honor this history of human culture.

The wreath is approx 10" in diameter. Includes a centerpiece seen in photos. Box is 15x15x3 approx.

Box is cushioned for pinning and the wood is a darker oak or rosewood. I would recommend more pinning once received.

Possible that it could be framed with glass but the wood is old.

This is sold as is. Please look at all pictures and ask any questions you have before you purchase,

Thank you
