The eagle, symbol of imperial Rome, is set on a genuine black onyx stone. There is a Roman phrase on the wring: VIRIS ET HONOS (meaning STRENGTH AND HONOR). Unless, you've been living in a cave, you know what movie that line is from. I never wore it but - it's been in storage for 23 years.
