This is NOT a variation of the Augustus Pablo single “Reggae In The Fields”, but a different, unreleased track altogether by Glen Adams and Herman Chin Loy.

Impossibly rare Aquarius records “Pre release” generic label for test runs. Song titles written in ballpoint pen. The “version” written on the B side is quite faint. The 45 plays MUCH better than it looks. Visually it is a bit rough. I tried to take as many pics to show the scuffs. Record has been cleaned to get any grime out. There is some surface noise but no skipping at all. Fantastic rock steady/ska rhythm dancer. Still sounds great please listen below.

20+ years ago there was a legendary, tiny reggae shop in the East Village of NYC called Jammyland. It was run by a dude named Ira who looked like Big John Stud from 80’s WWF wrestling. I brought this in to play for him and his Gal who ran the shop. He pointed out to me that it was Glen Adams on the keyboard playing, who was the original Augustus Pablo, before Horace Michael Swaby took over the name playing the Melodica. I can't quite remember if he said that Earl 'Chinna' Smith or Herman Chin Loy was talking during the beginning of the A side. My brain tells me he said ECS, but I leave it to you, the experts to clarify. He loved the bass response from the 45 through his sound system. I was surprised when he offered to buy it from me, and even more surprised when he said that he had never heard it before. I am ready to sell it now so please hear each side for yourself on the YT links below:
