For germination.

Half-strength P668 germination medium: this is an all-purpose germination medium that works well for a broad range of epiphytic orchids. Generally a decent medium for tropical terrestrial species: paphiopedilums, phragmipediums. Not recommended for temperate terrestrials such as cypripedium (see our other media including T839 and T849 for that genus).

NOTE:This is half-strength medium, full-strength agar. Some people prefer this for germination; I don't use it, but some people like it.

This is the old standby based on Murashige and Skoog salt base with 20 grams of sugar and all the other goodies (inositol, peptone, B vitamins- the whole kitchen sink is in there). Inexpensive and reliable.

Contains gelling agent (agar). Add water to 1 liter final volume, mix thoroughly, pour, and autoclave.

Please note: Orchid seed germination is a technical matter. If you are not familiar with the process, I recommend looking up some videos on YouTube, and doing some web searches for more information before buying media.

NOTE: International shipping has gone way up due to some pretty remarkable increases by the US Postal Service for international shipping.

NOTE: For those of you buying this medium for monkey-faced orchid seeds, you have been scammed. Do not buy this medium. "Monkey-faced orchid seeds" are no such thing- they're not orchids, anyway. I'll save you the money and the hassle.
