On the block: One (1) vintage 2010 NARRETAG OBERNDORF Germany Travel promotional souvenir

 pinback button. It measures approx 2.25 inches from side to side and features a full color illustration of a

 person in olden costume and mask throwing candy. Lettering is in black with the area and a German

 phrase. Multi shell pressed construction with metal back and spring pin. No date or makers marks. In

 good used condition with marks commensurate of a 10+ year old button. No large scratches, creases,

 image loss or dents. There is a raised dimple just where the rear pin rests. There are several small dings

 in the front that will not effect displayability. Great color and printing with foxing at the top left. Some

 darkening from handling/age on the back as well as some rust spots (especially on the pin shaft). This pin

 still has the original place of purchase sticker on the back. See pics.


Narrentag, or Fool’s Day, in Germany is a festival featuring colorful costumes, performances, dancing and

 the throwing of tangerines, pretzels and candy. The holiday is typically celebrated in January over several

 days and in several locations. This pin is for the festival in Oberndorf of 2010.
