This film is a MEDIUM CONTRAST, HIGH SPEED  black and white negative film  with a speed of 400 ISO with extremely fine grain yielding  "OUTSTANDING SHARPNESS"  and wide  tonal range in the resulting negatives producing  "SUPERB PRINT QUALITY".   It's extremely versatile 400 ISO speed can be uprated to 3200 ISO with very little loss of quality and still maintaining the  VERY  FINE  GRAIN  characteristics and  EXTREME  SHARPNESS.  It also has a wide exposure latitude yielding excellent negatives between 400 ISO and 3200 ISO. It can be processed in a wide variety of black and white developers. Because of these characteristics this film is an extremely versatile film that can be used in virtually any situation where extreme sharpness, wide tonal range and fast speed are crucial and yields first class results.  This exceptional film uses ILFORD'S unique core shell crystal technology.  The extreme sharpness coupled with its fast, variable speed and wide tonal range of this professional emulsion allows levels of enlargement never before possible without loss of fine detail which is perfect for producing superb black & white prints.. 

It is one of Ilford's world famous black and white emulsions that has been a favourite with black and white photographers everywhere in recent years (as it is just a relatively new emulsion). It has superior exposure latitude of  400 ISO to 3200 ISO even though the film's speed  is actually  rated at 400 ISO.
