This listing is for copies of 2 old maps of Worcester, England. They are not photocopies, but are book plates printed on good quality paper and were taken carefully from books printed in 1993 and 2000.

The smaller map was originally printed in the 1600’s by John Speed. The colours are vibrant and it is in excellent condition.  It measures approximately 20cm x 17.5cm (see photos for more exact details).  John Speed’s maps were the first to show all the counties of Britain with towns, villages and boundaries as they were at the time as they were at the time of Elizabeth I. With the first known ‘aerial’ maps of towns, illustrations of battles, portraits of royalty, they are considered to be an elaborate work of art.

This larger map was initially printed in the early 1800's by Cole and Roper as part of a collection of maps illustrating Cities and principal towns in England and Wales, the first part of which was published in 1801.  It’s also in excellent condition and measures approximately 30cm x 24cm (see photos for more exact details).

As they are both taken from books there is the description of a different map on the rear but included in the listing is a photocopy of the description of both maps. Please note though that the maps themselve are NOT photocopies.

Please ask if you have any questions or want more information.

They will be posted to you in a cardboard backed envelope.

I have lots of other maps for sale and will combine postage prices if you wish to buy any others.
